Cannabis for Conservation (CFC) provides biological and environmental services, scientific analyses, and project support for environmental compliance, research, restoration projects, land stewardship, and responsible development across Northern California.
Our team brings expertise in wildlife monitoring, special-status and rare species surveys, revegetation plans, geospatial analysis, and road assessments. We work with landowners, nonprofits, and public agencies to gather the ecological data needed to guide sound decision-making and regulatory compliance, and to help advance projects through funding, administration, and implementation.
Because CFC is a mission-driven nonprofit, contracted services support our broader conservation and restoration efforts throughout the region.
Our Services
Biological Services
CFC conducts biological surveys and assessments to document habitat conditions, special-status species presence, and develop minimization efforts if special-status species are found to both support the species and their habitats, as well as project goals.
Services include:
Protocol-level special-status and listed species surveys, such as Northern Spotted Owl surveys
Visual encounter surveys for amphibians and reptiles
Nesting bird and raptor surveys
Bumble bee surveys, including Western bumble bee
Bat acoustic monitoring
Protocol-level botanical surveys, rare plant assessments, and sensitive natural community identification
Habitat mapping
Wetland delineations (USACE protocols) and aquatic resource delineations
On-site qualified biologists for construction
These surveys support project planning, environmental review, and conservation planning.
Geospatial Mapping
CFC uses GIS and remote sensing tools to analyze landscapes and support restoration planning.
Services include:
GIS mapping, modelling, and spatial analysis
Watershed and habitat mapping
Geospatial analysis helps landowners and project teams understand site conditions and make informed management decisions.
Restoration Science
& Monitoring
CFC supports restoration and land stewardship through long-term ecological monitoring and data collection.
